I am opening my doors to show off  my new space. Same building, opposite end. Great view (No more parking lot!),  a couple of sand hill cranes named Doug and Carrie and a lot more head space!

This is in celebration of the new year, but I am also celebrating 10 YEARS of being in business!!!!

Yes, you heard that right. This summer will be my 10th year of running this bad boy. I am shocked at how fast time has gone and can’t believe it! I have gone through many ups and downs, trying to decide if this was my best path.  There have been extremely busy years, working too hard for too little money, or not working enough and having to find part time jobs. It took a long time to figure out how to be successful all year round being a wedding photographer in Wisconsin. Luckily, I really love shooting commercial work, boudoir and professional branding sessions! I’ve spent a few years just specializing in each area and I love it all so want to do it all!

Reflecting on the past decade.

It’s been quite the adventure but I do believe it was the right choice and wouldn’t change much. Even when my son asks me for a bigger and better house. I told him this morning when he asked for the 10th time, “would you rather be able to see me all the time or have a giant empty house and only see me on weekends?” Then he asked what kind of job he needed to have a big house like uncle Flynn. Boy, that kid keeps me on my toes. Well, first, you have to be able to read and write. So do your homework!

I get to work from home most of the time so get to have a nice balance of home life with my family and work. And, that is why my studio is so neat and tidy! Maybe I’ll share a photo of my chaotic desk at home…maybe not. It’s pretty bad. Just ask my husband. It’s controlled though! I can find most things I’m looking for if I look for a couple of minutes, lol.

Open House!!

So, back to this open house! Come on by and wish me a Happy New Year and Happy 10 Years and I’ll give you a cupcake (I put an order in with To Di For yesterday eeeekkk!). I am going to have some great deals on boudoir sessions, professional headshots, weddings and family mini session signups. After the open house, I’ll open up the sales to the public.

Tell your friends! Can’t wait to see you!

Morgan and Teddy married in Baraboo at the Al Ringling Mansion!!! So, here are some of my favorites from their incredible wedding. Hot weather be damned! It was about 90 degrees but still quite beautiful. Morgan wore a beautiful pink wedding dress and their reception was in the stars!

It was a perfect sunny day in October. Bright, clear, warm and full of family. This was one of those weddings where you could just feel the love. The venue was a beautiful barn in Poynette called the Barn at Harvest Moon Pond.

I’ve been saving this blog post for today! Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day, what better wedding to show off than Josie and John’s Green Wedding!

Josie and John have a really beautiful and unique story. I was blown away by the deep feelings and love in the details she shared with me. They met and started dating in the 6th grade!

Antonina + Brian | A Destination Wedding in the Caribbean

One year ago, today, I was recovering from an incredible wedding I photographed with my husband, Michael, down in the beautiful island of Tobago (As in Trinidad and Tobago). If you are not familiar with this country, it is the last two islands in the Caribbean closest to South America! We were honored to have been chosen to document the wedding of Toni and Brian! They are an super sweet couple from Northern Wisconsin and found out about us through my awesome cousin Barb and her husband Joel.

We had a whole group of amazing people traveling down to Sandy Point Beach Club for the big event and lucky us, we were able to stay for 5 days. Since the wedding was on the second day, we basically had a mini vacation afterwards. Even with all the stresses of travel and carrying with us thousands of dollars’ worth of camera equipment, it was still one of the most amazing trips I have ever taken in my life.

On the wedding day, I started out taking getting ready photos of Toni in her room. She had quite the in room salon going! Everyone was so friendly and talented. Anya of Mariposa Bride even helped me out with my unruly humidity ravaged mass of hair in between. The men were down in their suite on the beach hanging out! We had the best time walking around Sandy Point taking photos of everyone and the first look was priceless. The look on Brian’s face is a look of awe, love, and happiness.

The ceremony took place at the famous Pigeon Point Beach. It was a perfect day. Blue sky, puffy clouds, sunset to die for. The steel drum player was a perfect touch to a beautiful Caribbean wedding and there was so much joy and laughter. You can see how happier both Brian and Toni were on their faces and in their smiles.

The evening continued on back at Sandy Point with a beautiful reception design by Asha Mars at Perfect Weddings and Events. They did such a great job and everything looked so lovely. Once the bride and groom cut their Batman and Bride topped cake, the party was really ready to roll. Jonny James and the Hall of Fames also flew down for the wedding and played at the reception. These guys were so much fun and played so many great danceable tunes. Everyone was on the floor showing off their moves.

At the end of the trip, we were sad to go but also happy to come home to our little boy and normal life. I love the ocean and would love to do more destination weddings, or just go visit that big beautiful blue expanse of bliss just a few more times.
