It was a perfect day for a wedding out at Milford Hills for Abby and Chad. They had everything beautifully set up with rustic accents and lovely personalize signs and decor. I found Abby getting ready in the Trading Post with all her gorgeous ladies. The guys had just had a morning of trap shooting and were excited for the night. I loved the hand carved ring box with their initials and wedding date! I wish I could carve wood like that! All of the groomsmen had sweet hockey sticks they used for the grand march and the night ended with a fireworks show! Can’t get much better than that!

What a great team involved in putting together such an amazing day!

Riley asked Halie to marry him at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve! How romantic is that?? They both really love their dog, Molly and spending time together doing home renovations in their extra time. That sounds like quite the lovely life. Their wedding took place at Devil’s Head Resort in Merrimac on […]

I must say that Bri and Steve’s wedding was an absolute dream to photograph. Not only is Bri a professional photographer, but she also lives on a beautiful farm where Steve built her an amazing studio. It was the perfect wedding venue! The entire area is set up to take photos. It was so much fun being able to take advantage of all their beautiful landscaping, bluffs, available light studio, and a gorgeous old barn where they had their reception!

I first got to see their little plot of heaven when I went out for their engagement session last fall. The barn wasn’t quite ready yet, but Steve put a lot of hard work into it and now it has wonderful flooring, a bar and lots of space to party! I’m sure Bri has lots of plans to use if for all her gorgeous families and senior sessions. If you live in the Brodhead area and need a photographer, check her out at http://www.brilarsenphotography.com

One of the best parts of the day was when Bri’s sister hired a pilot for a flyover during the ceremony. I sent Heidi up to take some amazing aerial photos of the whole farm and ceremony. She also took some funny behind the scenes photos but begged me not to show them. I am still debating on that though!

It is always such an honor to be asked to photograph another photographer. Especially a wedding! Thank you so much for reminding me of how much I love my job and sharing your beautiful home with us.

What a great group of vendors!

A tropical themed wedding was the perfect opener to the wedding season after this wildly unpredictable Wisconsin winter.  There were beautiful florals of orchids, protea cynaroides, magnifica, birds of paradise, and little beta fish swimming around in the arrangements! The tables all had  cute little decorations of alligators, fish, turtles, tiny pineapples and exotic plants! Even […]

This winter, I was incredibly honored to be involved in super fun styled shoot at the Edgewater downtown Madison with my friends from BRAVA Magazine and the Celebration Society. We had beautiful views from the Presidential Suite on Lake Mendota and of the Capitol on the other side to accent our gorgeous dresses, cakes, models and setups. It is always a wonderful experience to do these types of shoots, not only to show new trends, beautiful venues, but also to spend time with amazing vendors that I can honestly call my friends!  What a wonderful day!

It was a perfect sunny day in October. Bright, clear, warm and full of family. This was one of those weddings where you could just feel the love. The venue was a beautiful barn in Poynette called the Barn at Harvest Moon Pond.

I’ve been saving this blog post for today! Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day, what better wedding to show off than Josie and John’s Green Wedding!

Josie and John have a really beautiful and unique story. I was blown away by the deep feelings and love in the details she shared with me. They met and started dating in the 6th grade! Though it was just a fun early stage romance, they always kept each other in their hearts. Both of them had rough teenage years. Josie was in a car accident due to hydroplaning, which resulted in two friends dying and in critical condition. John had some neuro issues due to a birth defect, was hanging out with some naughty kids and got into some trouble with the law. About 2-3 years later, they started dating which was 2010. They fell in love in their junior year of high school. John told Josie after three weeks of dating, he was going to marry her.JFJG-0667

Later that same year, a neurological birth defect John was born with began to show symptoms again and over the next year and a half he had 10 surgeries’. The last surgery leaving him wheelchair bound for a year and a half. John learned to walk again after many medication trials, some successful and other’s failures leading to stuttering, tremors, etc. He first walked with bilateral knee high leg braces and two arm crutches. Today he walks with just bilateral knee high leg braces and has worked to kick the arm crutches to the curb. He worked so hard.

In May of 2014, at the end of Josie’s practical nursing pinning ceremony, John walked down the aisle, up the stairs with his leg braces on and one arm crutch and asked her to join him on stage. There he got down on one knee in front of family and peers and asked her to spend forever with him!  Melting heart over here!

Josie and John’s first dance was toThinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran for the  significance of of the lyrics: “when your legs don’t work like they used to, and I can’t sweep you off of your feet” because John physically couldn’t while in the wheelchair.  How sweet is that? What a great love story! These two are such an inspiration and I am honored to be a part of documenting their beautiful day.
