Morgan and Teddy married in Baraboo at the Al Ringling Mansion!!! So, here are some of my favorites from their incredible wedding. Hot weather be damned! It was about 90 degrees but still quite beautiful. Morgan wore a beautiful pink wedding dress and their reception was in the stars!

mwmv-0814One of my favorite moments about Michaela and Mike’s wedding was a little surprise after the ceremony when one of their parent’s friends brought up a sweet classic car and let us take photos with it! I know sometimes, if not done right, these types of photos can look cheesy or dated, but to me, the car lover, I was in heaven. I have always loved different cars and everything about them. I wish I had thought of something like this for my wedding oh so many years ago. I shoot so many different things because I love so many different things. Maybe I should add car models to the list!

I met Michaela and her awesome bridesmaids at Aniu Salon for their hair and make-up appointments. Aniu is one of those amazing places full of gorgeous architecture and lighting. And the staff was more than welcoming. Check out the arm tats on the guy doing make-up! Now that is one cool make-up artist.

The Marriott is always super fun to shoot. If you haven’t been there, it has all of the floors and rooms surrounding a large open area that you can look down on. If you are afraid of heights, you probably shouldn’t go up the elevator which looks out over everything. The arial shots of the ceremony turned out really cool thanks to Heidi!

Mike was incredibly dapper and cool waiting to catch a moment with Michaela before the ceremony. I was with her getting in a quick wedding day boudoir session. I do that ladies! It is such a cool surprise for your groom. Well, little did he know, she wasn’t wearing much when they talked through that door! I hope she shared that little secret with him in later 😉

One of my favorite places to shoot in Madison is Pope Farms. That place is so beautiful all year long. The long path and rock wall is so pretty!  One of Madison’s many gems. We took some time with the wedding party and enjoyed the beautiful September weather.

At the end of the night, the kids were dancing like crazy and eating blue M&Ms (you know, for Michaela and Mike) and having the time of their lives. I loved shooting the little girls flying through the air from their dads and big smiles on everyone’s faces. What a happy day.

Our final wedding of the 2016 busy season was one of the most inspiring and emotional endings I have ever had. It was my very first gay wedding and I am so happy that Heidi and I were able to be a part of this momentous event for Nick + Michael and capture every amazing […]

When Gretchen and I first drove up to Joe and Sue’s beautiful farm out in the driftless hills of Avoca, WI, we couldn’t believe such a perfect place could exist. All around the valley were hills, trees and winding roads. It was so quaint and pretty! The backyard was set up for the ceremony and there were beautiful gardens everywhere. I picked up Andrew and dropped him off at a tiny little church up the street with Gretchen so we could do a first look over there. Then I went back and picked up Miranda. She had on this incredible dress with lacy sleeves and a tee length skirt. It was so perfect for the setting!

These two are really into outdoors fun like fishing, hiking, camping and skiing. They live in Oregon so I know they get to enjoy some gorgeous scenery. They also like to cook! I loved how everything seemed to mesh with their personalities from the photos hanging on the clothesline showcasing memorable moments in their lives together to the delicious jam they made together in Oregon and shipped over for the their favors. They also made this incredible peach topping for the wedding cake. I didn’t try the one with brandy (I had an hour drive home!) but I’m sure it was also amazing. The song Peaches comes to mind when I think about it….You know, Millions of Peaches, Peaches for Me! Haha.

During the Ceremony, I was blown away by Miranda’s sweet little 7 year old son reading this beautiful writing. What a cutie!  Miranda’s friends also read and cried with happiness for them. I loved it! Such raw emotion! Beautiful!

Then we got to eat Pig! I love a good backyard pig roast. Mmm Mmm Mmm. We set up a little photo booth and got some crazy photos of everyone acting all goofy. I made a slideshow in the next post. Check it out! Then Miranda and Andy changed into their comfy clothes and cowboy boots and had kickin’ shindig! I had the best time photographing the “wild dancing men”. I love that term. Nothing better than a bunch of people dancing out in the great outdoors and having the best of times.

Kyle and Jenny were married in a sweet little church out in the middle of the mounds near Barneveld, WI. When I arrived, I gave me the feeling of home, just like the church I went to as a small child. It was beautiful, small and full of history.  What a great place to start […]

The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it’s all that matters. – Audrey Hepburn

Ashleigh and Nick’s fun, classy, romantic and Swiss inspired wedding was one of those weddings where I came home and felt like I had just witnessed something really truly special. From the bride’s Audrey Hepburn bridal style to all of the groomsmen’s crazy socks, it blended together in a way that was absolutely perfect.

The day began when I arrived at the Cinema Hair Studio downtown to capture Ashleigh and her best friends get beautified. Heidi was working with me that day so she hightailed it over to the Blackhawk Country Club to get some fun groomsmen shots of Nick and the boys. I love when we get to shoot this way and show them afterwards what was going on at the same time. The Madison Club was just as beautiful as ever. I took advantage of the beautiful Library Room and hallways for some photos of the ladies. Heidi, of course, got a shot of the guys under that GIGANTIC Moose downstairs in the bar.

The ceremony was pretty special with Ashleigh’s Man of Honor, Kurt, singing and playing the piano to a classic Elton John tune and other amazing music as well as advice from various guests.

Of course, my favorite part was going out on Monona Terrace and capturing some fun moments with the wedding party and just the bride and groom. The color of the dresses was indescribable. I’ll go with “grayish blue” hahaha. It was so pretty with the pastel flowers from Momentum Floral.

Did you see that cake and the donuts??? And the cupcakes?!? Oh my God!. I had one of the donuts and it was something like basil raspberry or blueberry rosemary, I don’t know but it was the best donut that I have ever had. BLOOM BAKE SHOP is AMAZING!

The last thing that I was completely blown away by was the dramatically fun and carefree manner of dancing between the bride and groom and then with their parents and Nick’s aunt. There was twirling, dipping, lifting and strutting. It was awesome. I think these two are going to be happy forever. Congrats you guys!
